Harvest & Flushes

Fish Leaf

The small undeveloped leaf at the base of a new shoot — usually discarded by careful pluckers.

Named for its rounded, fish-scale shape. It produces an inferior cup and well-trained pickers leave it on the bush. Its presence in finished tea is one quick visual sign of careless plucking.
