Tippy

A finished tea full of golden or silver buds, signalling careful plucking and high quality.

The downy hairs on the youngest bud often appear gold or silver after processing. The more 'tips' visible in the dry leaf, the higher the grade — hence FTGFOP ('Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe') for Indian black teas.
