Da Hong Pao

/DAH-hong-pow/

'Big Red Robe' — the legendary roasted oolong from Wuyi's cliffs, the most expensive tea in the world.

Grown from a few mother bushes still alive on the rocky cliffs of Wuyi Mountain. The original tea sold at auction in 2002 for over US$1 million per kilogram. Even non-mother-bush 'shang Da Hong Pao' carries the trademark mineral 'rock' (yan yun) character.
