Famous Teas

Gyokuro

/g'yoh-KOO-roh/

'Jewel Dew' — Japan's most prized green tea, deeply shaded and outrageously umami.

Bushes are shaded for 20+ days before harvest, forcing them to load up on theanine and chlorophyll. The result is a thick, savoury liquor that tastes almost of dashi broth — something unlike any other tea on Earth.
