Pu-erh

/POO-air/

Microbially fermented tea from Yunnan — the only true 'aged' tea, often pressed into cakes.

Made exclusively from large-leaf Yunnan assamica. Sheng (raw) pu-erh ages naturally for decades; shou (ripe) pu-erh is wet-piled to mature in months. Pu-erh is to tea what whisky is to spirits — investment, terroir, vintage, all of it.
